You can check to see if a Domain Name has already been taken by going to the 'Whois'
section on our Website. If the name is taken, it will let you know, and even provide
some basic information about the entity holding the name.

28801. What is the difference between the Simplified Domains Alternative DNS and
the legacy Domain Name system?
Simplified Domains DNS is the ONLY non-categorized naming system and an alternative
domain name system. You do not need to classify your organization as one of a few
Internet industry mandated types. Your name or phrase can stand on its own as an
address.

28802. Why do I have to put a dot 3 characters from the end of the Domain Name?
From the beginning, Internet addresses have ended primarily in the same format,
a dot and then 3 characters. Most domains in existence today end in either .com,
.net, or .org. While we do create a wealth of new ways a domain name can end, we
chose to keep the familiar format of three characters after the dot because it is
a useful and recognized standard.

A subscription for a domain name from Simplified Domains is $75 per year. This price
does not include hosting. That charge will be subject to the pricing schedule of
your Host or ISP.

28804. How do I register a .COM, .US, .NET, .ORG or other top level Domain Names?
Since Simplified Domains does not handle these top level legacy domains, you will
need to contact one of the hundreds of registrars for these TLD extensions.

Currently, in the beginning stages of Simplified Domains, we are both a registry
and a registrar of domain names, however we are inviting current registrars of legacy
domain name system to partner with Simplified Domains to register simplified domain
names as well.

28806. Why can’t I buy this domain name that is currently not owned?
If the domain name resides in our trademark database, then there are legitimate
trademark holders that the name will be reserved for. In order to purchase a trademarked
name, you must call our support so we can set it up manually pending proof of the
trademark.
